Vietnam’s coffee exports in Feb2023 are estimated at 180,000 tonnes, worth 393 million USD. This result is up 26.3% in volume and 26.5% in value against last month. Compared to Feb 2022, the figure is up 28.7% in volume and up 22% in value.

However, according to the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), in the first 2 months of 2023, Vietnam’s coffee exports reached 323,000 tonnes, worth 703 million USD, down 13.1% in volume and 14.6% in value over the same period in 2022.

In Feb 2022, the average export price of Vietnamese coffee was estimated at 2,182 USD/tonne, up 0.2% compared to Jan 2023, but down 3.9% compared to Feb 2022. Generally, in the first 2 months of 2023, the average export price of Vietnamese coffee is estimated at 2,180 USD/tonne, down 1.7% over the same period in 2022.

Coffee exports achieved good results in Feb 2023.

Regarding type structure: In Jan 2023, exports of Robusta coffee and processed coffee decreased compared to Dec and January 2022; On the contrary, Arabica coffee exports grew positively.

Statistics from the General Department of Customs show that Robusta coffee exports in Jan 2023 reached 128.56 thousand tonnes, worth 239.5 million USD, down 27.4% in volume and 28.3% in value against Dec 2022. Compared to Jan 2022, the figure is down 39.7% in volume and 43.8% in value.

Notably, Robusta coffee exports to some markets in Jan 2023 increased compared to the previous month and over the same period in 2022, including Italy, Ecuador, India, Indonesia, etc.

In Jan 2023, Arabica coffee exports reached 7.21 thousand tonnes, worth over 27 million USD, up 11.1% in volume and 9.5% in value against Dec 2022. Compared to Jan 2022, the figure is up 16.1% in volume and 4.3% in value.

In particular, there is an increase in Arabica coffee exports to markets including Belgium, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Spain, etc. In contrast, Arabica coffee exports to the Netherlands, the United States, Canada, Japan, Indonesia, etc decreased./.
