Vietnamese coffee continues to set a new record, reaching 7 billion USD in just 9 months. It is expected that the export value can hit 8 billion USD for the entire year of 2025.

According to the Vietnam Customs Department, in September 2025, Vietnam exported 81,000 tons of coffee, worth 462 million USD, an increase of over 60% compared to September 2024. By the end of September 2025, coffee exports reached nearly 1.24 million tons, valued at 7.01 billion USD. This is an increase of 12% in volume and 62% in value compared to the same period last year. The figure far exceeds the 5.62 billion USD for the entire year of 2024, marking a new historical milestone for Vietnam’s coffee industry.

Vietnamese coffee continues to reach a new record.

The average export price of coffee in September reached 5,700 USD/ton, an increase of 4.2% compared to August and 2% compared to the same period in 2024. Overall for the first 9 months, the average export price reached 5,655 USD/ton, which is 45.2% higher than the same period last year. It is the highest price in recent years, showing the strong competitiveness of Vietnamese coffee amidst fluctuating global prices.

Domestic and global coffee prices have risen sharply due to scarce global supply and extreme weather affecting major producing countries like Brazil and Indonesia, as well as increased demand and investment activity. In that context, Vietnamese Robusta coffee has become the preferred choice due to its stable supply, competitive prices, and improved quality.

In the first three quarters of 2025, Germany, Italy, and Spain were Vietnam’s three largest coffee-consuming markets, accounting for 13.9%, 7.5%, and 7.5% of the market share, respectively. Compared to the same period last year, the export value of coffee in the first 8 months of 2025 to Germany increased by 89.7%, to Italy by 47.5%, and to Spain by 59.2%.

According to Mr. Do Ha Nam, vice chairman of the Vietnam Coffee-Cocoa Association, Vietnam is currently one of the few countries meeting the EU’s EUDR requirements. This creates a significant advantage in the European market. At the same time, Vietnam is promoting deep processing to increase the added value of the coffee industry.

The Import-Export Department forecasts that in the final months of 2025, global coffee consumption will continue to increase strongly as winter and the holiday season approach. This is the peak season for the coffee industry, creating favorable conditions for Vietnam to continue boosting exports, especially as the new harvest has begun.

The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) expects that Vietnam’s coffee production in the 2025-2026 crop will increase by about 7%, reaching 31 million bags, with 24.6 million bags for export. With the current growth momentum, total coffee exports this year could reach 1.6 million tons, maintaining Vietnam’s position among the world’s leading exporters.

With this growth rate, the Vietnam Coffee-Cocoa Association said that the export value for the entire year of 2025 could exceed 8 billion USD, higher than the 7.5 billion USD target set by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.
