The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam considers this a significant step, opening up great opportunities for Vietnamese agricultural products, especially durian and fresh coconuts.
Vietnam is one of the largest coconut producers and exporters in the world, with an area of about 175,000 hectares, mainly concentrated in the Mekong Delta.
With the potential from a market of 1.4 billion people, Vietnam’s fresh coconut export turnover is expected to increase by an additional 200-300 million USD this year and continue to grow strongly in the following years.
