For the second year in a row, fresh lychees from Luc Ngan, Bac Giang, continue to be trusted by The Mall Thailand to be included in the Gourmet Market chain. Vietnam’s lychees are on display in the group’s major malls in Bangkok to serve customers from all over the world.
Mr. Pumin Piyawanich, the representative of Ekthai Company, wants to have Vietnamese lychees for sale every year.
Mr. Pumin Piyawanich, the representative of Ekthai Company, which imported lychee for sale at Gourmet Market at Siam Paragon Shopping Center, said: “We want to have Vietnamese lychees for sale every year because the quality of Vietnamese lychee is the best. This year, Vietnam’s lychee production is not as high as last year, but fortunately, we have signed contracts with farmers from the previous year. That’s why we have lychees here to meet the expectations of our customers in Thailand.”
Mr. Pumin also said that although the price of imported lychees this year is slightly higher than in 2023, his company still tries to keep the selling price equal to last year so that many customers can enjoy Vietnamese lychees.
A staff member from the importing unit is introducing the sticker set created by Sang kien Mam (Mam Initiative) to promote Vietnamese lychee in Thailand.
The sweet and juicy fresh lychee not only attracts Thai consumers but also tourists from many countries.
“We are introduced to Vietnamese lychees when traveling to Thailand,” said Ms. Debby, a tourist from Singapore. “I tried it and found it so sweet. I have never seen Vietnamese lychees in Singapore before. So, I hope they will be brought to my country, and I can buy them at the supermarket.”
In addition, to make Vietnamese lychee more widely known in the Thai market, a country known as the tropical fruit kingdom, Gourmet Market has combined with Sang kien Mam (Mam Initiative), a project of a group of young Vietnamese people dedicated to building a Vietnamese agricultural product brand, to launch the promotion campaign “The best lychee from Vietnam” for the first time in Thailand in 2024.
The first boxes of Vietnamese fresh lychees are on display at Gourmet Market in Bangkok on June 15.
The campaign consists of hand-drawn advertising images and especially a set of lychee stickers with different funny expressions in Thai to introduce the unique taste of Vietnamese lychee. Users can download it for free on some messaging applications, such as Viber or WhatsApp. This is a new promotion method to reach local consumers in Thailand. The campaign will be promoted during the entire time the Bac Giang lychee batch is imported weekly and consumed in Bangkok from June 15 to the end of July.
According to Mr. Truong Duc, strategic team leader of the Mam Initiative, the group desires to contribute to innovating the traditional way of trade promotion through the application of technology and creative ideas. In the coming time, the Mam Initiative expects to continue implementing more creative and meaningful agricultural product promotion campaigns to join the community and bring Vietnamese agricultural products to more countries around the world. /.
