After consecutive sessions of increase, the domestic pepper market today, September 4, 2025, recorded a significant downward trend. According to data from local areas, the average pepper price is now at 152,200 VND/kg, down 1,600 VND/kg compared to yesterday.

In Gia Lai, prices decreased by 2,000 VND to 151,000 VND/kg, remaining the lowest among key provinces. Ba Ria-Vung Tau and Dak Lak both lost 2,000 VND, leaving them at 152,000 VND/kg and 153,000 VND/kg, respectively. Binh Phuoc and Dak Nong also saw a downward trend, with prices decreasing by 1,000 VND, bringing prices down to 152,000 and 153,000 VND/kg. Thus, even the two localities with the highest levels, Dak Lak and Dak Nong, have fallen behind after the recent price increase.

Domestic pepper prices saw a downward adjustment after many days of strong increase.

This development shows that the domestic pepper market is entering a period of adjustment after a strong series of price increases. Experts say the decline isn’t too surprising, as short-term supply has improved. At the same time, buying pressure from export companies slowed down temporarily after they had been buying goods in the previous days.

Despite a slight decrease during the day, the current price of pepper is considered high compared to the same period last year, reflecting a positive market trend. With an average price of over 152,000 VND/kg, farmers are ensuring good profits after many years of low prices. However, analysts warn that fluctuations in the global market, particularly import demand from China and the US, will continue to directly impact domestic pepper prices in the near future.

In the short term, pepper prices may fluctuate around the 152,000–153,000 VND/kg range, depending on the purchasing activities of businesses and the actual supply from farmers. The recent price adjustment is a good sign, helping the market balance before entering the peak period at the end of the year.
