More than 10 tons of macadamia are exported by Nutri Soil Import and Export Joint Stock Company in Dak Lak to the Korean market in the first days of the new year.

On the morning of January 03, Nutri Soil Import and Export Joint Stock Company (Dak Lak) held the first official export ceremony of macadamia to Korea.

The first batch of macadamia officially exported to Korea included more than 67 boxes with a total weight of over 10 tons. The products have been inspected by professional agencies of the two countries on pest control, food safety and hygiene, packaging, and traceability. It is expected that these products will be sold in major supermarket chains in Korea.

More than 10 tons of macadamia in Dak Lak are officially exported to Korea.

Ms. Le Thi Trang, Director of Nutri Soil Import and Export Joint Stock Company, said that macadamia has enough conditions to open up the future, especially when the whole agricultural industry is implementing a restructuring project towards improving added value and sustainable development.

According to Ms. Trang, macadamia can be used widely in the food technology agriculture industry. Currently, the demand for macadamia products in the world is increasing.

The market space in the world for macadamia is extremely large because this industry has just been formed in the last 20 years. According to the forecast, the world’s demand for macadamias is now 04 times higher than the total supply now. As a result, developing macadamia to serve the international market is the right direction.

“For more than 08 years of establishment, the company has been attached to farmers, constantly exploring, learning experiences, investing in processing machinery and equipment, and looking for output markets to develop the industry. So far, the company’s macadamia products have been highly appreciated by many domestic and international customers for product quality.

The export of macadamia to Korea will open a new era for the company’s development in the coming time. The company will contribute to the overall development of the local as well as Vietnam’s macadamia industry, ”Ms. Trang said.

Ms. Le Thi Trang, Director of Nutri Soil Import and Export Joint Stock Company, said that the official export to Korea would open up opportunities for businesses as well as for the macadamia industry.

Mr. Huynh Ngoc Duong, Deputy Director of Dak Lak Department of Industry and Trade, said that Korea is a potential market for agricultural products.

“We are so excited from the beginning of the year that macadamia can access a difficult market like Korea. I think that in the future, Dak Lak’s products will reach out to other markets. It is believed that Dak Lak’s export turnover this year will far exceed the figure of 1.6 billion USD, ” Mr. Duong said.

Currently, Dak Lak has more than 4.5 thousand ha of macadamia with an output of more than 1.5 thousand tons/year. Dak Lak is one of the localities with early research and production of macadamias across the country, so there are many opportunities to evaluate the effectiveness. In fact, many farming models have brought high economic efficiency.

Dak Lak has developed a sustainable development plan for macadamia in accordance with the government’s development orientation under the Sustainable Development Project for the period 2021 – 2030, with a vision to 2050.

Dak Lak has more than 4.5 thousand ha of macadamia with an output of more than 1.5 thousand tons/year.

Accordingly, this locality continues to study and create new macadamia varieties with high productivity, quality and economic efficiency, resistance to pests and diseases, and adaptation to ecological sub-regions. Management and production of seeds will provide enough standard varieties for macadamia cultivation.

Besides, the province will research and transfer the technical process of macadamia in accordance with local conditions; prioritize the development of the production process in the direction of high technology, good agricultural production practices (VietGAP, GlobalGAP…), and organic agriculture to create high-quality, safe, competitive products in the domestic and international markets./.
