Mangoes are believed to have export potential to demanding markets, contributing to the development of Vietnam’s agricultural sector. Vietnam has become the 13th largest mango exporter in the world. Vietnamese mangoes have been exported to 40 countries, with the main markets being China, followed by the US, South Korea, the EU, and Japan.
In China and the US, Vietnam’s mangoes are famous for their high quality and reasonable prices.
Vietnam is also among the top 15 countries exporting mangoes and mango products to the US. The price of mangoes from Vietnam is lower than the price of mangoes from Thailand, so there is a great competitive advantage.
In addition to the US and China, South Korea is an active importer of Vietnamese mangoes. Vietnam is the third-largest supplier of mangoes to this market.
At the beginning of 2024, the first batch of green-skin mangoes (7 tons) from Cho Moi district (An Giang) was exported to Australia and the US.
