In 9 months of 2023, cashew nut exports earned 2.6 billion USD and recorded a 2-digit growth compared to the same period last year.

According to the General Department of Customs, Vietnam’s cashew nut export in September 2023 is estimated at 60,000 tons. This result is worth 328 million USD, down 1.0% in volume and 1.6% in value compared to August 2023. But compared to September 2022, it increased by 56% in volume and 39.6% in value.

In 9 months of 2023, Vietnam’s cashew nut export is estimated at 456,000 tons, worth 2.6 billion USD. This is up 19.6% in volume and 14.3% in value over the same period last year.

Vietnam’s average export price of cashew nuts in September 2023 was about 5,474 USD/ton, which was down 0.7% compared to August 2023 and 10.5% compared to September 2022.

Accumulated in 9 months of 2023, Vietnam’s average export price of cashew nuts reached 5,722 USD/ton, down 4.5% over the same period last year.

In 9 months of 2023, cashew nut exports recorded a 2-digit growth compared to the same period last year.

In terms of types, in 8 months of 2023, Vietnam exported mainly cashew nuts W320, W240, and W180, accounting for 63.55% of the total volume and 70.0% of the total export turnover of the country. Therefore, the export growth of the above cashew nuts has had a positive impact on the whole sector.

In particular, in August 2023, cashew nut W320 exports from Vietnam reached 27.15 thousand tons, worth 162.51 million USD. This result increased by 9.6% in volume and value compared to July 2023, by 35.1% in volume and 27.2% in value compared to August 2022.

In 8 months of 2023, cashew nut W320 exports reached 167.65 thousand tons, worth 1.03 billion USD, which was up 18.6% in volume and 10.7% in value over the same period last year.

In August 2023, cashew nut W240 exports reached 8.48 thousand tons, worth 51.57 million USD. Compared to July 2023, this result increased by 7.2% in volume and 5.5% in value. Compared to August 2022, it increased by 54.1% in volume and 34.8% in value.

In 8 months of 2023, cashew nut W240 exports reached 58.35 thousand tons, worth 380.28 million USD, which was up 21.5% in volume and 14.2% in value over the same period last year.

From early August 2023, Vietnam’s cashew nut exports to the US have increased sharply again. Vietnam’s cashew sector has great expectations after US President Joe Biden visited Vietnam on September 10-11.

In addition, cashew nut exports to China recorded high growth, which will contribute to the overall export growth.

According to the cyclical factor, Vietnam’s cashew nut export activities will be vibrant in the last months of the year. It is forecast that the demand for cashew nuts for holidays will increase sharply./.
