According to estimates from the Import-Export Department, in the first two months of 2025, Vietnam exported 62.4 thousand tons of cashew nuts, worth 424.8 million USD. This is a decrease of 31.8% in volume and 13.7% in value compared to the same period in 2024.
In February alone, Vietnam’s cashew exports are about 25,000 tons, worth 171 million USD, a decrease of 33% in volume and 32.9% in value compared to January. Compared to February 2024, there is a 5.5% decrease in volume but a 20.8% increase in value.
It is estimated that the average export price of Vietnamese cashew nuts in February is about 6,821 USD/ton, an increase of 0.2% compared to January and a 28% increase compared to February 2024.
Cashew exports in 2 months have decreased in both volume and value.
In the first two months of the year, the average export price of Vietnamese cashew nuts reached 6,812 USD/ton, an increase of 26.7% compared to the same period last year.
Vietnamese cashew kernels are now available in over 90 countries and territories worldwide. The US, the Netherlands, and China remain the three largest markets for Vietnamese cashew nuts.
Cashew nut exports in the first two months of 2025 have decreased in both volume and value.
The Vice President of the Vietnam Cashew Association (VINACAS) said that the reason for the decline in cashew nut exports in the first two months of the year is due to a slight slowdown in the market.
Buyers are waiting for the new season. Besides, the amount of goods purchased previously was quite large, and the warehouses abroad still have stock, so importers are limiting their purchases.
Regarding the market outlook, the Vice Chairman of the VINACAS believes that from April or May onwards, the market will become vibrant again, and at that time, sellers will be able to sign more contracts.
Last year, cashew nut exports reached a record high, with over 4 billion USD. Previously, the cashew industry had set a target to achieve an export turnover of 4 billion USD by 2020. However, it was not until 2024 that the goal of 4 billion USD in cashew nut exports became a reality. The VINACAS expects that cashew nut exports will achieve about 4.5 billion USD this year.
