As of March 3, Vietnamese enterprises have recovered 12 of 35 containers of cashew nuts exported to Italy whose original documents were lost. This is a huge win thanks to the active support of relevant parties.

The Vietnam Trade Office in Italy works with the financial police in La Spezia, on March 22, 2022.

According to the Vietnam News Agency in Rome, Lawyer Davide Gallasso’s office and colleagues said that Vietnamese enterprises have regained the ownership of nine containers lost of original documents by negotiation, and confirmed to the buyer that they are not related to the consignment.

The lawyers made every effort to work with an Italian company and were confirmed that they were not related to the above nine containers and had never purchased goods from Vietnam. Based on this confirmation, Vietnamese enterprises have taken out nine containers and can exchange bills of lading to sell to new buyers in a very short time, reducing big losses.

In addition, Vietnamese enterprises also paid a guarantee fee to the shipping company to bring three containers back to Vietnam. Another success in the case of 100 containers of cashew nuts exported to Italy is that up to now, Vietnamese enterprises have sold 18 containers of goods to the Netherlands and Turkey.

The lawyers also work with the Vietnam Trade Office in Italy to connect with overseas Vietnamese enterprises in countries such as Italy, Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria, Belgium, and Hungary to help find reputable distributors in Europe to find new buyers. Currently, some partners have shown their interest and considered buying these cashew nuts. Through the above case, Lawyer Davide Gallasso recommends that Vietnamese enterprises need to choose safe payment methods, and learn carefully about their import partners when exporting goods. At the same time, they also need to be active in shipping ships rent, which means exporting in the form of CNF or CIF conditions. Because it helps enterprises have better control over the original documents and goods.
