The province’s lychee is conveniently consumed both in the domestic market and for export. The export volume of lychee is nearly 111,200 tons, accounting for over 55.1% of the total consumption. Domestic consumption is nearly 90,500 tons, accounting for nearly 44.9%.

Export output is mainly to the Chinese market, with a proportion in the export market structure of over 98%; the rest is exported to other markets such as the US, Japan, Korea, Australia, EU, Thailand, UAE, Qatar, and some countries in the Middle East and Southeast Asia.

This year’s lychee season brings the highest total revenue ever.

To increase the value of lychee, at the same time reduce the pressure of consumption in the peak time, many localities and cooperatives promote the processing of lychees instead of just selling fresh lychees. In addition to common products such as dried lychee, juice, lychee vinegar, or honey from lychee flowers, this year, some cooperatives in Luc Ngan district have processed many other products.

For example, this year, for the first time An Phu Trade and Tourism Cooperative, Tan Son commune has introduced to the market two products including lychee bread and lychee-flavored pastry. Accordingly, lychee bread is made from wheat flour mixed with lychee juice, inside the cake there is processed lychee combined with fresh coconut copra. The pastry also undergoes fermentation and is mixed with lychee juice.

Similarly, Dong Dao Tourism Cooperative, Quy Son commune for the first time has introduced a lychee wine branded “Le Chi”. In addition, the cooperative also cooperates with an enterprise in Hai Phong to successfully create lychee-scented candles (wax form) with a typical fragrance and culture.

Tru Huu Tourist Trade Cooperative, Tru Huu commune (Luc Ngan) has produced lychee tea. In the coming time, this cooperative will produce more products made from lychee such as lychee yogurt or lotus seed and lychee tea to serve customers./.
