In the first 11 months of 2021, the total export turnover of agricultural, forestry, and fishery products was valued at US$43.5 billion and “crossed the finish line” ahead of schedule.
According to The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), in the reopening period after social distancing, Vietnamese enterprises had made a great effort to complete all year-end orders, which helped the export turnover reach US$4.2 billion in November 2021 (5.8% up against last month and 8.9% higher compared to the same period last year).

Generally, the export turnover of agricultural, forestry, and fishery products in 11 months was estimated at nearly US$43.5 billion, up around 14.2% year-on-year. Thanks to this result, the Agricultural and Rural Development Sector finished 2021 goals one month ahead and exceeded Government’s target US$1.5 billion in the context of the COVID 19 pandemic. The Agriculture Sector was also forecast to earn US$44 billion from exporting this year. Based on the average monthly exportability, agricultural, forestry, and fishery products export is expected to exceed US$45 billion by the end of December 2021.

In the first 11 months of 2021, key farming products export was estimated at over US$19.3 billion (13.7% up), key forestry products valued about US$14.3 billion (20.9% up), fishery products reached over US$7.9 billion (3.5% up), animal breeding valued US$393 million (4% up) and production inputs reached over US$1.5 billion (25.9% up). The export of wood and wood products with many agricultural and forestry products saw a dramatic rise in 2021.
In 11 months, many products had an increase in export value including coffee, rubber, rice, vegetables, pepper, cashew, cassava, and products from cassava, animal breeding products, wood products, rattan, bamboo, sedge carpet, and cinnamon. Among them, rubber, cashew, cassava, and products from cassava saw a growth in both export value and quantity.

Particularly, the average export price in 11 months of many products went up. Peper price had climbed 54.4% which was the most significant rise. The price of rubber, cassava, coffee, rice, and tea increased 25.8%, 13.5%, 10.7%, 6.5%, and 4.4% respectively.

Regarding the agricultural, forestry, and fishery products export market in the first 11 months of 2021, Asia, America, Europe, Africa, and Oceania markets were accounted for 43.1%, 29.6%, 11.5%, 1.9%, and 1.6% respectively.
The United States is now Vietnam’s largest export market with over US$11.9 billion accounted for 27.5% of market share. The export turnover of wood and wood products was 67.2% of the total export turnover of agricultural, forestry, and fishery products to this market.
China is Vietnam’s second largest export market with nearly US$8.4 billion accounted for 19.2% of market share. In this market, the export turnover of vegetables and fruit accounted for 23.3% of the total export turnover.
Japan comes in third with nearly US$3 billion export value accounted for 6.9%.. Korea ranks 4th with US$1.9 billion (4.4%).
