According to the Customs Department, by November 15th, Vietnam’s total import-export turnover reached over 801 billion USD, exceeding the results achieved in 2024. This is also the all-time record high. Along with coffee, vegetables, and pepper, cashews are an agricultural product that contributes billions of USD to the agricultural sector. Exports of this item have been maintained despite the volatility of the global market.

Vietnam’s cashew nut exports in October 2025 were 73.2 thousand tons, valued at 504.2 million USD, an increase compared to October 2024.

From the beginning of the year, Vietnam’s cashew nut exports reached 628,000 tons, worth 4.3 billion USD. This is an increase of 2.8% in volume and 19.4% in value compared to the same period in 2024. The average export price was 6,811 USD/ton, a strong increase of 16% compared to the same period in 2024.

In 10 months of 2025, Vietnam’s cashew nuts were mainly exported to China, the US, and the Netherlands, accounting for 50.95% of total export volume. In particular, Vietnam’s cashew nut exports to the US and the Netherlands decreased in volume, while exports to China increased significantly.

The export price of cashew nuts remains high in 2025.

In the first 10 months of 2025, China was both Vietnam’s largest cashew export market and the fastest-growing export market, reaching 142.5 thousand tons, valued at 910.18 million USD. This is an increase of 38.0% in volume and 53.7% in value compared to the same period in 2024.

China is also the strongest consumer market for the W180 series, the highest-end segment. The demand for cashew nuts in China is increasing, leading to Chinese traders buying more Vietnamese cashew nuts in recent months. Specifically, the price of cashew nuts exported to China is higher than the price exported to the US.

International organizations even predict that China could surpass the US to become the world’s largest cashew market in the near future, helping Vietnam diversify and expand its growth potential.

In addition, Vietnam’s cashew nut exports to some other markets also increased significantly in the first 10 months of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, such as Germany, Saudi Arabia, and Lithuania.

The cashew industry’s goal of 4.5 billion USD in export turnover in 2025 is achievable. It’s even likely to exceed this mark, as cashew consumption typically increases during the year-end holiday seasons. The trend toward healthy eating is making cashews increasingly popular in the US, EU, China, and Asia. Besides traditional cashew nuts, the demand for deeply processed cashew products such as cashew butter, cashew milk, and cashew oil is increasing rapidly.

According to the Vietnam Cashew Association (VINACAS), for nearly two decades, Vietnam has been the center of the global cashew industry, the largest importer of raw cashews, and the world’s largest exporter of cashew kernels. The strong development of the cashew industry contributes significantly to the country’s agricultural export turnover and provides income for millions of workers in Binh Phuoc, Dong Nai, and the Central Highlands.
