As estimated, Vietnam’s cashew nuts export in November 2021 was valued at 50,000 tons, worth 326 million USD, down 5.8% in volume and 7.0% in value compared to October 2021; up 8.1% in volume and 15% in value against November 2020. In general, in the first 11 months of 2021, Vietnam exported about 531,000 tons of cashew nuts, worth 3.34 billion USD, up 14.3% in volume and 14.6% in value against the same period last year.

According to statistics from Vietnam Customs, cashew nuts export of Vietnam in October 2021 reached over 53,000 tons, worth 350.95 million USD, up 3.5% in volume and 2.9% in value against September 2021, down 0.6% in volume but up 9.5% in value against October 2020. Generally, in 10 months of 2021, Vietnam cashew nuts export reached 480.7 thousand tons, valued at over 3 billion USD, up 15% in volume and 14.5% in value over the same period in 2020.

It was estimated that the average export price of Vietnam cashew nuts in November 2021 was 6,528 USD per ton, down 1.3% against October 2021, but up 6.4% compared to November 2020. In 11 months of this year, the average export price of Vietnam cashew nuts was valued about 6,290 USD per ton, up 0.2% over the same period last year.
Based on statistics from Vietnam Customs, in October 2021, the average export price of Vietnam cashew nuts was 6,612 USD per ton, decreases 0.6% compared to September 2021, however, increases 10.1% compared to October 2020. On the whole, in the first 10 months of 2021, the average export price of Vietnam cashew nuts was 6,256 USD per ton, down 0.4% against the same period last year.

In general, Vietnam’s cashew nut export structure has fluctuated. In addition to focusing on exporting main types of cashew nuts W320 and W240, the Vietnamese cashew nut industry has promoted the export of high-value cashew nuts such as W180.
Cashew nuts W180 has the highest growth rate in the first 10 months of 2021, up 43.4% in volume and 56% in value over the same period in 2020, reaching approximately 15 thousand tons, worth 127 million USD.
China is the leading export market of cashew nuts W180 with an export volume of 7.74 thousand tons, worth 61.21 million USD, up 33.7% in volume and 53.2% in value compared to the same period in 2020; followed by the Israeli market with a volume of 1.61 thousand tons, worth 153 million USD, up 65.5% in volume and 59.3% in value.
The average export price of cashew nuts W180 reached 8,515 USD/ton in the first 10 months of 2021, up 8.8% over the same period in 2020. The average export price of cashew nuts W180 to some markets is at a high level such as Canada reached 13,666 USD/ton, Spain reached 11,463 USD/ton, Hong Kong reached 11,264 USD/ton, and Greece reached 10,814 USD/ton.
